I’m participating in this event because it is being done in honor of my son, my hero.  He died saving others.  There is no greater act of love than the sacrifice of one’s own life for someone else’s.  It makes me proud.  It also makes me want to give, to make a difference somehow.  So I will be biking and rucking with others, some who knew and loved Dave, too, and others who have their own hero’s to whom they will pay tribute.  In the end, all of our efforts will combine to raise money to help those who help defend life and freedom around the world.
